Event Description The Graduate College of Drexel University presents Wellness Weekdays, a series of workshops which focus on wellness of the mind, body, and spirit for graduate students. These sessions offer an opportunity for graduate students to take a break from their academic pursuits, learn something new and engage with peers, faculty, and professional staff across the University.
Warm-Up Wednesday: Empowered by Posture Wednesday, April 14, 2021 1:30 – 2:15 p.m. EDT Virtual via Zoom
Graduate students have a lot on their plate and finding balance can be challenging. The same can be said about finding balancing within our bodies and minds. Studies have shown that our physical posture has a direct effect on our daily wellness (mental, physical, and emotional) and poor posture can lead to instability in mood, lack of motivation and inhibition of higher-level cognition.
This Warm-Up Wednesday will feature an introduction to the benefits of proper posture to enhance your overall wellness and performance. Steven Westbrook, Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness programming at the Drexel Recreation Center will share micro-adjustments you can make to increase your energy and focus every day.
