Event Description
Join the Dornsife COVID-19 Journal Club for a discussion on EHealth Literacy in the context of fighting COVID-19 disinformation.
Two papers will be discussed: 1) “Online mis/disinformation and vaccine hesitancy in the era of COVID-19: Why we need an eHealth literacy revolution” by Fadia Dib et al. and 2) “Critical health literacy in pandemics: the special case of COVID-19” by Thomas Abel and David McQueen. Jen Lege Matsuura (Health Sciences Librarian) and Alysha Melnyk (Global MPH/Lead Educator at ECRI) will discuss the papers, which were published in January 2021 and December 2020, respectively.
The papers make the case for eHealth as a fundamental skill needed to empower the public about making informed decisions.
