The economic dislocations resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic have highlighted and exacerbated the skill gaps in the global workforce.  Many jobs have been eliminated, and many workers lack the skills necessary for the new jobs that are being created. Therefore, new methods are needed to quickly upskill and reskill the workforce. Here upskilling means enhancing a trainee’s existing skillset, while reskilling involves transferring and adapting skills to a new occupation.
