In this session, we will examine the interplay between structural racism and the COVID-19 pandemic and their impact on People of Color in academic medicine, including those in leadership positions.
The objectives of this session are to:
-Explore factors that affect People of Color in academic medicine, specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic. -Identify barriers to professional advancement for People and Women of Color. -Discuss the impact of racism, bias, & microaggressions on People of Color in academic medicine. -Highlight strategies to support People of Color in their professional advancement in academic medicine.
