Event Description
Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is a huge step forward for the U.S. on the path to a net-zero economy. The IRA affects all sectors and addresses both greenhouse gas emissions and the need for carbon dioxide removal. Karl Hausker, PhD, will present on the history of U.S. climate change policy, the origins of the IRA and its major provisions spanning climate, equity, environmental justice and their impact on jobs and careers. He will explore several features that are still contentious within climate policy circles, along with the implementation challenges we can expect in the decade ahead.
